WebSite Links
The Links page of the Living In Cornwall website, is intended as a directory and will refer to anything and everything, which, generally, I have had first hand experience of, could be of interest or provide useful information. I don't intend to use it for comment or as a critique, just to help anyone hoping to live in Cornwall either permanently or for a holiday. The links below are unpaid for.

Restaurants
This is a random, cross-section of some of the places we have eaten; there are so many terrific places in the county that I couldn't list them all.

CHAPEL ST. BRASSERIE. Penzance has always had the arty credentials for being 'cool' and chic. Modern and stylish with great food and terrific music on Sunday evenings.
www.chapelstbrasserie.com

GREENHOUSE RESTAURANT. This simple, small cafe/bistro in St. Keverne provides well cooked, wholesome, rustic food with an ambience more reminiscent of Continental cafes with a very English menu.
www.tgor.co.uk

SOUTH CAFE. Nice food in the village of Manaccan, near Helford; I've included South as they are open through the day and really do make children welcome.

Producers

Cornwall just can't help itself when it comes to producing the best of locally grown food that's possible to find and when I can, I buy nothing that's wrapped several times in cardboard and plastic. This isn't to say that I spend too much time sourcing it, as it tends to come to my door!

NEWLYN FISH. 12.30 every Wednesday, Phil the Fish calls with back of his little van full of the best of the catch displayed on ice, much of it caught from day boats off the Cornish shore.
www.newlynfish.co.uk

VEGGIE BOXES. The Healthy Box scheme was started In Cornwall some years ago. For £5 we have 8 kinds of vegetable, mostly grown locally delivered to our home, the taste is great.
www. healthyboxes.com

CLOTTED CREAM, FUDGE, ICE CREAM and everything scrummy that comes from the milk of free-grazing Jersey cows. The cream; primrose-yellow, lusciously-rich, divinely dollopy... this isn't just any clotted cream, this is Joe Roskilly's silky, seductively-smooth Cornish clotted cream! The ice cream comes in a load of flavours, new for 2009 are jelly berry and rock choc, however, the originals like hokey-pokey and tiramisu take some beating. The Croust House opens daily into the evening and does bbq's in summer months.

ORGANIC MEAT. At Rosuick, the Oates family have farmed their meadows since the 1700's to produce organic beef, lamb, pork and poultry. Don't be confused by the website address, this is Cornwall, not Morocco. www.cornishcamels.com

CHILDRENS' CLOTHES. A fabulous collection of groovy kids' clothes made from woven organic cotton. Kurt and Lucy started their business with the ethic of kindness towards children and the planet.

Plants and Gardens
After the killer frosts and raping easterly wind that rode like a Valkyrie through our gardens destroying and pillaging defenceless plants, here are a few nurseries that I can recommend for replacing stock.
